聽The Environment Team would like to draw attention to a national campaign called Green Britain Day.
Launched as an initiative under the banner of the 2012 Olympic Games, the first Green Britain Day takes place this Friday, 10 July. The idea is that we are all part of Team Britain and everyone should think about how we can all help to make Britain greener over the coming months and years.
The campaign aims to raise awareness about small and practical adjustments that each of us can make to our daily travel, whether its walking or cycling rather than taking the car, or driving smarter so that we use less petrol. The campaign also encourages us to try to minimise the energy we use, for example by switching off PCs and lights, and to cut down on the amount of waste that we throw away.
