As part of the Festival of British Archaeology‚ members of staff from the University’s Archaeology department will be welcoming the replica Bantry Bay gig Intégrité to its new berth at Buckler’s Hard. There will be a full day of activities‚ including a demonstration of ship building techniques‚ and a chance to try out various experimental archaeology techniques.
The event will take place at Buckler’s Hard, and a reduced fee has been negotiated for members of University staff. To qualify‚ you will need to bring with you a University of Southampton id card. Reduced prices are £5 for adults, £4 for senior citizens, £3.40 and £3.50 for children, and £16 for families.
Activities take place throughout the day. The ceremony to welcome the gig will start at 2pm.
