Following a nationally competitive recruitment process鈥 the Chair of Council has approved the appointment of Tessa Harrison as the University鈥檚 Registrar.
Tessa will join the University in August 2011鈥 from the University of West England (UWE)鈥 where she is currently Academic Registrar and Clerk to Governors. In her current role she has led a number of cross鈥搃nstitutional projects including a substantial change programme to deliver a new鈥 integrated Academic Registry. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Association of University Administrators鈥 a member of the Academic Registrar鈥檚 Council, and a member of the Association of Heads of University Administration 鈥 roles she intends to continue after her move to Southampton.
Tessa holds a BA (Hons) in Sociology and English from Lancaster University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Women鈥檚 Studies from Anglia Polytechnic University.聽聽In 1993 she joined Lancaster University as Head of the Undergraduate Registry and from 2000 was Head of the Teaching Quality Support Office before joining UWE in her current role.
