Earlier today Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education) Debra Humphris responded to the release of the Guardian University Guide 2012 rankings:
鈥淲e are disappointed to see we have dropped several places in the Guardian rankings for 2012鈥 released yesterday. We believe this change in position is largely due to an anomalous return on the 鈥楥areer at six months鈥 measure which shows a surprising level of change within a period of one year. We have made significant investment in student employability over the last 12 months and we are committed to increasing this investment into 2012 and beyond. We are actively investigating the underlying data supplied to this ranking.
鈥淲e are pleased to see we are still number one in electronic and electrical engineering and mechanical engineering. We are also in the top ten for archaeology, computer science, modern languages, nursing and paramedical studies.鈥
