The Curriculum Innovation team are delighted to report that 1,029 students have signed up to take one of the interdisciplinary modules next year. This demonstrates how keen many of our students are to broaden their educational experiences and develop new skills and knowledge for their future. Some of the modules will also be on offer to incoming first year students in September, so the final numbers are likely to rise again.
Some of the current cohort who are taking CI modules this year have shared their experiences and have been very positive about what they have learned and the impact this will have on their futures:
鈥淓veryone is talking about China these days鈥�. What is really happening? 鈥� Armed with this knowledge, my career options will definitely be wider.鈥� Denny Boey, 3rd year Law, 鈥楿nderstanding Modern China鈥�
鈥淭he opportunity of discussing and debating contemporary issues with students from different disciplines allowed me to develop interpersonal skills and helped me understand different perspectives鈥� Mohamed Ibrahim, 3rd Year Geography, 鈥楽ustainability in the Local and 福利着片 Environment鈥�
鈥淭his module has assisted me in my Dissertation and other coursework as I am learning to think about problems from different perspectives rather than just my own鈥� Ellie Selwood, 3rd Year English, 鈥楨thics in a Complex World鈥�
Lecturers have also found the experience of developing a CI module worthwhile:
