Information sessions and school exhibitions to provide information about both the Engineering courses at Southampton and the Malaysia campus took place over a two week聽period this summer, in Kuala聽Lumpur, Penang, Miri, Sibu, and Kota Kinabalu in Sabah.
These sessions were aimed at increasing recruitment of students for both this year and next year, as well as raising the profile of the campus. Student interviews of current applicants took place at some of these events too.聽Information sessions were led by Carolyn Leong, the Marketing and Student Recruitment Manager, and John McBride, the CEO of the University of Southampton Malaysia Campus joined events in both Kuala聽Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu.
Prospective students and their parents attended these events with interest, and many who wished to learn more about the Engineering courses offered at Southampton, as well as the Malaysia campus, confirmed their interest to attend the open day at the聽Malaysia campus.
John McBride commented, 鈥渋t was a great opportunity to meet with parents of prospective students and speak to them in more detail to understand their priorities in sending their children to an international University, as well as taking the opportunity to raise the profile of the Malaysia campus across Malaysia鈥�.
