Important information, please take note. Availability of software applications, Friday 3 January 2014

As part of the University of Southampton鈥檚 move to Astro聽House (our new data centre), iSolutions are required to shut down various servers that provide and run some software applications over the network.
There will be two phases of work on 3 January.

鈥⒙Phase 1 鈥 07:00 鈥 08:30:聽 Applications that are run through App V will be unavailable between 07:00 and 07:30 and are 鈥渁t risk鈥 until 08:30.聽

This work will impact all University provided PCs/laptops that use the software listed in our 鈥 section.
Examples of this type of software include Adobe Reader and Mozilla Firefox.
Even if you have accessed this software previously, you聽may not be able to access it at this time.

鈥⒙Phase 2 鈥 14:00 鈥 16:00:聽 Applications run through licence servers will be unavailable for a maximum of 15 minutes between 14:00-16:00.聽聽 If you already have the application open before 14:00, you should be able to continue working.聽 However, you should note that applications should be considered “at risk” for the full two hours.

This has the potential to impact all PCs/laptops that are connected to the University network that are using the software listed in our 鈥 section.An example of this type of software is SPSS.
