Professor Anne Curry has been confirmed by Culture Secretary Maria Miller as one of five new Trustees to the Board of the Royal Armouries. The appointment is for four years.
Professor Curry, Dean of Humanities and Professor of Medieval History at the University of Southampton, currently chairs the Agincourt 600 Committee in conjunction with the Royal Armouries and has published extensively on medieval armies and battles. She was President of the Historical Association (2008-11) and has also been a Vice President of the Royal Historical Society (2006-9). She is a member of the Research Excellence Framework 2014 History sub-panel, and of the English Heritage Battlefields Panel.

Royal Armouries is the UK鈥檚 national museum of arms and armour, including artillery. The Collection is one of the largest of its kind in the world. The 鈥楢rmouries鈥� started its life in 1338 at the Tower of London, which it still maintains.
Amongst the new Trustees joining Professor Curry are Andrew Burnett CBE, former Deputy Director of the British Museum; Jason Kingsley OBE, Co-founder, Chief Executive and Creative Director of Rebellion, an independent software company producing games and publications; Christine Mayer CBE, former Chief Executive for Her Majesty鈥檚 Courts Service; and Deborah Mills, currently 福利着片 Business Leader for Procter & Gamble brands at Saatchi聽& Saatchi.
