Professor Chen was one of 59 new Fellows who were elected by the RAE at its AGM this week. All new Fellows have been invited to join the Fellowship in recognition of their outstanding and continuing contributions to engineering.
Sheng Chen, a Professor in the Communications, Signal Processing and Control Research Group, engages in world-leading research into聽 computational聽 intelligence and signal processing, together with their engineering applications for mobile communications.
Professor Chen says: 鈥淢y election to a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering is recognition of my personal achievements and Southampton鈥檚 endeavour in helping to develop these enabling technologies that underpin our information society and digital economy.鈥�
