The conference is jointly organised by the Department of Sociology, Social Policy &听Criminology and the University’s Confucius Institute and will draw together scholars from China, Europe and the US to consider a range of pressing issues of concern to disciplines across the social and human sciences.

- Professor Ann Anagnost, Professor of Anthropology and Chinese Studies at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. Professor Anagnost teaches both graduate and undergraduate courses on China, globalisation, human capital formation, neoliberal governmentality, food politics, and practices of self-care.
