The University鈥檚 student yachting team have been crowned World Champions by winning the .听This is the first time that the University has ever won the World Cup, after .
They beat 11 other teams from around the world across six days of racing at La Rochelle, France producing a fantastic performance by winning nine of the 16 races.听The team members were –

- Dan Flanigan, MSC Ship Science graduate
- George Johnson, fourth-year Ship Science
- Jonty Cook, Economics graduate
- Richard Burrows, Ship Science graduate
- Kate Devereux, second-year Ship Science
- Jamie Diamond, second-year Ship Science
Conrad said: 鈥淚t was an absolutely fantastic week, competing against top notch teams in beautiful weather. It still has not quite sunk in that we won!鈥�
