Last week, Dr Andrew White, Head of Safety & Occupational Health at the University,聽was appointed to the Industrial Injuries Advisory Council (IIAC).
IIAC is a statutory body providing scientific advice and support to the Secretary of State聽at the Department of Work & Pensions regarding the Industrial Injuries Benefit scheme.聽Chair of IIAC is Prof Keith Palmer from the Faculty of Medicine. Dr Karen Walker-Bone聽from the Faculty of Medicine is also a member.
Andrew said, 鈥淚 am very pleased to have this opportunity, which will enhance my聽professional skills and outlook to the benefit of the University, raise the profile of聽the University, and also provide important public service鈥�.
