‘Technology Enhanced Learning’ has been chosen as this year鈥檚 Enhancement Theme.聽 The decision was made by the Academic Quality and Standards Committee (AQSC) at its January meeting.聽聽The聽University聽uses enhancement themes to focus activity around a particular area to improve the quality of learning opportunities.
A University-wide programme of activity will now be developed around this theme, addressing issues such as the use of new technology in lecture theatres, using technology to 聽improve feedback, online learning, and good practice in preparing and recording class sessions. Academic and administrative staff will be included, as well as students and, in particular, the University鈥檚 iChamps.
For the past two years, the University鈥檚 Enhancement Theme has been 鈥楩eedback to Students on Assessment鈥� and AQSC heard how the University and faculties had addressed this theme. This included a feedback conference coordinated by the Institute of Learning Innovation and Development (ILiAD); discipline level drives to improve the timeliness and quality of feedback; 聽discipline level workshops on specific issues and the trial of a 鈥榬eflection on feedback form鈥�, used as a discussion in Personal Academic Tutors sessions.
