Southampton’s Quidditch Club 1 (SQC1)听won first place in the annual British Quidditch Cup held this month, coming first of 24听 teams.
With a final score of 12o*^-90, SQC1 beat the defending Radcliffe Chimeras.听The University’s听second team –听 Southampton听Quidditch Club 2 – took 16th place.听A play-by-play review of the match is听available on .
“Everyone who took part represented both our club and university fantastically and we’re looking forward to more success in the future,” says Simon听 Bidwell, Captain of SQC1.
The team will make its first appearance听at the听upcoming taking place in Oxford on听Saturday 18 –听Sunday 19 of April.
Quidditch at the university has grown considerably in the last year, starting a second team and becoming the largest club in the country.
If you would like to get involved, or attend a training session at Southampton Common at 13:30 on Wednesdays or 13:00 on Sundays. Anyone is free to join but be sure to wear suitable sportswear.
