Students to build and test a record breaking wingsuit

This year, students in our department are aiming to build and test a world record breaking wingsuit as part of their Group Design Project.

The aim of the world record attempt is to set the fastest, longest distance and highest altitude wingsuit flight in history. , lecturer in Astronautics and Advanced Propulsion and experienced wingsuit BASE jumper, will fly the new suit in the University’s wind tunnels, as well as for the record attempt.

Students have submitted their Group Design Projects and are awaiting to find out if they are on the team for the hopefully record breaking wingsuit. Meanwhile, Dr Grubisic has been honing his BASE jumping training in Norway and Hawaii.
