Today (9 October 2015) the prestigious 聽opens in Leeds, the first venue on its four stage tour around the country. In exactly one year,聽the show will be coming to Southampton as the opening exhibition at the John Hansard Gallery鈥檚 new city centre premises.

The British Art Show is widely recognised as the most ambitious and influential exhibition of contemporary British art, with artists chosen for their significant contribution over the past five years.
Director of the John Hansard, Stephen Foster, is delighted the curators have chosen to bring it to the city:
鈥淭o host the British Art Show is a tremendous coup for the John Hansard Gallery in partnership with Southampton City Art Gallery, particularly as the show is only held every five years.
