The Researchers’ Café has two events coming up. Free to attend and no need to register, although people can join the events listed on the .

From 12:00 – 13:30 on Thursday 12 November there is an engineering themed Researchers’ Café on Boldrewood campus. This is a lunchtime event in conjunction with Lloyd’s Register, to be held in the Foyer Café of Building 175 (LR building). The Café serves drinks and light snacks. Feel free to bring your lunch with you.
The topics being discussed are:
– Controlling emissions from passenger ships – with Max Wu, Senior Emission Specialist, Lloyd’s Register
– Sustainability of space-flight and improving it with our satellite – with Aleksander Lidtke, University of Southampton
From 18:00 – 19:30 on Tuesday 17 November there is a humanities themed Researchers’ Café on the north corridor of Avenue campus. This event is part of the Being Human festival and the topics will relate to this year’s theme, Religion and Me – more info .
In this session, Dr Jonathan Leader will discuss Hannah Arendt and the importance of religious experience in her political writing and thinking, Holly Dunbar will speak about gender, nationalism, and journalism, and Muazzam Sharif will discuss Hamlet and revenge and cultural and religious beliefs in Pakistan.
