Student Services

Located in Building 37 onÌýÌý(opposite the Jubilee Sports Centre), yourÌýÌýare committed to helping you find the support and information that is right for your throughout you student journey.Ìý They cover a range of different services including Student living, Money matters, Support and wellbeing, Health and fitness, Visa and immigration and Career Opportunities.

The Student Services Centre can be contact via email:Ìýssc@soton.ac.uk, phone: 02380 599599, or face to face in Building 37. Their opening times are 08:30-18:00 Monday-Friday, with extended hours at peak times of the year.

Careers and EmployabilityÌýService

Located within theÌýÌýCentre, Building 37 on theÌýÌý(opposite the Jubilee Sports Centre), the Careers and Employability ServiceÌýis the one-stop destination for all your career needs.

Their provides an opportunity to speak to an adviser to assess how we can best support you including providing feedback on CVs, applications and personal statements.

The AdviceÌýCentre

Located upstairs in Building 40 (above the Stags), the Advice Centre is here to provide you with free, independent and confidential advice on a range of subjects such as Academic and Financial advice.

Sport andÌýWellbeing

For students at the University of Southampton, Sport and Wellbeing membership can offer a range of sporting, engaging and fun activities to enhance the student experience. As a member you getÌýfreeÌýaccess to a wide variety of facilities. For example, a six-a-side football pitch or tennis court at Wide Lane, a spinning class at the Jubilee, the ski slope at the Southampton Sports Centre, sailing at the Watersports Centre, or an insanity class in our Sports Hall.

EnablingÌýServices

Enabling Services provides a wide variety of support services for students who have disabilities, mental health problems, or specific learning difficulties.

The team is able to offer aÌýnumber of appointment options: face to face, telephone or via Skype.

Appointments can be arranged by either attending the weekdayÌýdrop-in sessionsÌýfromÌý13:00Ìý–15:00Ìýin theÌýStudent Services Centre (Building 37 – Highfield Campus), or by emailingÌýenabling@soton.ac.uk.

Hardship Support Fund

The Hardship Support Fund is provided by the University to help students who find themselves in unexpected, unforeseen or exceptional financial circumstances.

Appointments are available for studentsÌýevery Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday in the Student Services Centre (Building 37, Highfield Campus).ÌýAt your appointment, the Financial Information & Assistance advisor will discuss the application process and your eligibility.

Please note the Hardship Support Fund cannot normally be used to cover tuition fees or placement costs and applying for Hardship Support doesÌýnotÌýguarantee an award.
