The University’s MEng Computer Science with Cyber Security course has received Government accreditation, GCHQ Director General for Cyber Security Ciaran Martin announced on Monday.

The announcement came as聽part of the official launch of ‘Cyber First’,聽a Government-led scheme聽which aims to encourage individuals to pursue a profession in cyber security and聽help meet聽the UK’s future national security needs.
Director of the University鈥檚 聽(CSA), Professor Vladimiro Sassone said:
鈥淭he Government is responding to a skills gap by promoting cyber security education at all levels and Southampton is fully engaged in the process. We are pleased to receive this testimonial of the quality of our programmes.鈥
The CSA was launched in November 2015 with the aim of helping make government, businesses and consumers more聽resilient to cyber-attack.
