The 8th Southampton Symposium on Self and Identity (SSSI) will be held on Thursday, 14 July 2016Ìý´Ú°ù´Ç³¾Ìý13:30 – 18:45, andÌýFriday, 15 July 2016 ´Ú°ù´Ç³¾Ìý10:00 – 14:00. Both sessions will take place in the Shackleton Building (Highfield Campus), Room 3095.

The Centre for Research on Self and Identity (CRSI), Psychology Department,Ìýis delighted to welcome renowned historian , who willÌýgive the keynote address entitled: ‘The History of the Self’. Most recently the author of the popular book ‘Human Race: 10 Centuries of Change on Earth’, Dr Mortimer will talk about how historical events have shaped self and identity as we know them today.
The theme of this year’s symposium is: ‘The Self as Sonata: The Exposition, Development, and Recapitulation of Classic Themes.’
