Following on from our recent successful event, we are proud to continue to promote LGBT+ equality in the community and further afield.

Andy Cast, our Chair has been invited to facilitate a panel discussion on ‘LGBT+ and Mental Health’ as part of Diversity Week (5 – 9 September). This forms part of their wider diversity and inclusion work.
He will be joined by Mind’s service who will share about occurrences of mental health issues in the LGBT+ community, and services available. Outcome is a client led LGBT+ service that has been run by a lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered team for 15 years and is one of the few LGBT+ mental health services in London.
Other speakers will include members from the NHS and . The aim of the panel will be to draw out the experiences individuals can share that shine a light on the effects of mental health issues relating to LGBT+ individuals and how they dealt with them. The panel will also offer advice on how others can support friends, loved ones and colleagues that find themselves in similar situations.
The University is committed to positively promoting mental wellbeing and helping prevent mental health problems such as stress, anxiety and depression from occuring. We have continued to support the since 2014, the , and LGBT+ equality as a symbol of their our ongoing commitment to create an inclusive university environment.
