Completely immerse yourself, cos nothing is weird at University. You could walk past someone mixing chips and mint ice cream in the library at 4 in the morning and think that’a just a brilliant idea.

PS: Your student card can get you some pretty sweet deals (freebies at McDonald’s and 20% off clothes).

If you’re stuck don’t be afraid to ask lecturers for help and advice, they’re people too!

My advice is to march yourself to the library, give yourself a time that you’re allowed to leave, and just sit and make yourself do work. This will feel so hard and boring for the first few times, but if you sit it out, your mind will just get used to sitting down and working. I’m in my third year now and I can sit down and work for hours without being tempted to check Facebook, my phone, or to give up entirely. This actually means I have more time to properly relax, because I’m using my time much more efficiently than I used to be.

Motivation isn’t something you’re born either having or not having, it’s just a case of training up your focus 🙂

University is where you discover who you are and what your passions are and where you develop into a confident happy adult. Never be afraid to go with your gut and try something new or stick to what you want to do. It’s okay if you feel the course you are doing isn’t for you or if you feel university isn’t for you either. It’s all about you and life is now your oyster.

Do it again and again before exam period then try exam questions.

University is full of culture and is made up of students from all over the globe; don’t waste a perfect opportunity to mix with people which you have never mixed with before!!

Chances are there will be lots of people feeling/thinking exactly the same and you won’t look stupid!
