The University has welcomed the 2016 who will be studying a wide range of Masters programmes across seven faculties.

There are聽28 scholars聽from 25 different countries.聽 One of the聽awards, the Chevening-Southampton Partnership Scholarship, was allocated by the University to Leonela Beltran Carrasquero from Venezuela to study a Masters in聽International Law.
The new scholars, along with awardees聽from 2015,聽were welcomed by , Director of International Student Recruitment who said:
鈥淐hevening Scholarships are incredibly competitive and are awarded to candidates who intend to become future leaders when they return to their home countries. We are delighted that once again so many scholars have chosen Southampton for their studies, and we hope they will have a challenging but rewarding year.鈥
Chevening Scholarships are the UK Government鈥檚 highly regarded scholarship scheme which funds international students to study a Masters programme in the UK. The fully-funded scholarships are open to students from over 160 countries worldwide.
