This weekend, from Friday 3 February to Sunday 5 February, the Music Department will present The Loop Project, part of the Turner Sims concert series.
Accompanied by leading Jazz musicians, the HARTLEY Loop Orchestra will perform a major revision of Benjamin Oliver鈥檚 Loop Concerto. Re-scored for jazz trio and large ensemble, the work finds a musical space somewhere between jazz and contemporary classical languages.
The main concert at听19:00听辞苍听Sunday 5聽February will feature new works by and , as well as music by Gavin Bryars (who wrote聽Jesus鈥� Love Never Failed Me Yet) and Mozart.
Southampton music students will also be performing聽alongside leading jazz musicians, Ivo Neame (piano), Jasper Hoiby (bass) and Jon Scott (drums).

There is also a free lunchtime concert 辞苍听Friday聽3 February at 13:00 featuring (lute) and Music of Black Origin (MOBO) winning pianist Ivo Neame.
