The appraisal window for all level 4-6 staff (ERE/MSA/TAE/CAO) will close on 31 May. The appraisal is your opportunity to meet with your line manager and reflect on your contribution for the period ofÌý1 January 2016 – 31 December 2016; consider your personal development and career aspirations; and set your objectives for the coming year.

The appraisal will also help you understand how your work contributes to our ‘‘ strategy by increasing our reputation, ranking and delivering an exemplary student experience.
The appraisal process is designed to be fair and transparent, consistently applied and aligned to the University’s .
What happens after your appraisal?
You and your line manager will make a record of your conversation in . Please ensure you complete the ‘overall contribution summary’ and any additional comments following your discussion. This will help with the moderation process. Once you are both happy with the comments, either of you can complete the appraisal by selecting the ‘submit to moderation’ page on the form.
What is moderation?
The moderation meetings will take place throughout June and ensure there is consistency in the allocation of appraisal ratings across the University. They will also allow line managers to identify areas of excellence, consider succession planning and identify training needs
What happens if you have still not had an appraisal?
Please ask your manager to set up an appraisal before 31Ìý²Ñ²¹²â. If you have had your appraisal, please ensure this has been recorded and submitted for the purposes of moderation.
