Boost your physical and mental health – take part in the health walk on 9 June

Take part in a guided nature walk in your lunch break on Friday 9 June as part of BioBlitz 2017.

The walk, which will depart from Valley Gardens, Highfield Campus at 12:30 and last approximately an hour, is being organised by Health and Wellbeing (part of Health and Safety). Students and staff are encouraged to take a break from their desks and enjoy a walk to Southampton Common led by a volunteer.

Getting active helps to improve both your physical and mental health. Regular walking has been proven to reduce the risk of serious illness, as well as lift your mood and reduce stress, anxiety and depression.

Those wishing to attend should . Remember to wear suitable footwear and bring a bottle of water. Depending on the weather, you might also need sun cream, a hat and sunglasses, or waterproofs and wellies.

Health and Safety is coordinating a number of campaigns throughout the year to raise awareness of and improve wellbeing. .
