Head of Early Music and lutenist Professor Elizabeth Kenny features on a recording which has won a prestigious Gramophone award.

The album, released in July 2016 on the Linn label, focusses on English Renaissance composer John Dowland’s 鈥楲achrimae鈥�, an intense and passionate set of pavans mixed with flamboyant instrumental dances, first published in 1604.
Gramophone鈥檚 original review praised Phantasm’s 鈥榯otally convincing and absorbing鈥� performances, stating 鈥榥othing is routine in Phantasm’s hands.鈥�
Professor Kenny is no stranger to awards this year, teaming up with acclaimed English tenor Ian Bostridge to help win a Grammy in February in the Best Classical Solo Vocal Album for the recording Shakespeare Songs.
