The , run by the , allows students to represent those studying the same degree on course related matters in their Academic Units. The most common way this happens is through Staff-Student Liaison Committees (SSLC).
Course Reps have all been elected by students on the same course and, as a result, have an important role to play in representing students’ views and improving communication between students and academic staff.
VP Education, Samuel Dedman, who manages the academic reps system said:
“Academic RepsÌýare one of the largest groups of volunteers that we have at the Students’ Union, with each of them playing a key role in representing the views of students to the University. Elected by the students they represent, they stand up for the student voice on everything, from study spaces to examinations, ensuring that the views of the student body are listened to and respected across the institution. Ìý
