The Students’ Union (SUSU) elections were held earlier this month and the successful candidates were announced last week in a live stream run by SUSU TV. Every year, a team of students is elected by students to lead the Union and set the agenda for activities that run over the academic year. Over 4,323 students cast their vote in this year’s election and you can find out who will be leading the Union in 2019-20 and representing our student community below.
The candidates will be in post from 1 July 2019 for the 2019-20 academic year.
Sabbatical Officers are elected, full-time, paid members of the Union. They are the public face of the Union and their role involves making positive changes, as well as running events and campaigns to benefit our students.

Student Officers are elected to carry out voluntary roles at the Union alongside their studies. This can range from leading a student media group, to being an officer for a specific group of students depending on their faculty, campus and more.
