If you read the report from People and Planet () its fairly obvious why we are doing so poorly.

To name just a few failures, we still hold investments in fossil fuel companies, we still take research money from fossil fuel companies, have failed our 2020 target of reducing CO2 by 20% (its increased 1%), we don’t buy renewable electricity, we are not a Living Wage employer, and we have just 4 members of staff working on sustainability.

You can criticise the methodology of People and Planet, but you’re not really giving them much to go with when you have a record
like us…

And yet the climate consensus is clear – radical action is needed immediately to address CO2 emissions. To a university priding itself on environmental research, this message should have already been taken seriously. it is a shame upon our community that we act as if we didn’t believe the problem existed.
