On Thursday 30 July, the University announcedÌýa suite of voluntary cost saving measures for staff, including a which is now open for applications.Ìý
The measures areÌýone aspect of a wider, strategic approach to our recovery from the expected impact of COVID-19.

The voluntary measures include:
- A Voluntary Severance (VS) scheme open fromÌýMonday 3 August 2020 untilÌýSunday 20 September 2020.
and the following measures which are all effective from 1 October and for whichÌýfurther information will be available in September:
- The opportunity forÌýreduced working hoursÌýfor a limited period
- The opportunity forÌýbuying additional holidayÌýfor a limited period
- The opportunity to take unpaidÌýcareer breaksÌýfor a limited period
- And a reminder that we already have anÌýexistingÌýopportunity to apply forÌýflexible retirement.
