All new UG and PGT students have received an email linking them to a new online course 鈥淲elcome 2020/21鈥� to help familiarise them with student life at Southampton. Students have been asked to complete these before the start of teaching.
The course will be broken into seven sections
- Welcome to Southampton
- IT Orientation
- Safe, Supported and Our Campus
- Preparing to Study
- Student Engagement
- Student Support
- Your Welcome Programme
The courses are available for teaching staff and students to view on Faculty Student Hubs in Blackboard.
Welcome courses for returning UG and PGT students will be sent out later this month. A new central Doctoral Researcher Induction site has been created for all new PGRs to supplement Faculty inductions and this will be communicated with new PGRs imminently.
Creation of these new online induction courses is just one part of the wider which is working to ensure our new and existing students鈥� transition well into their studies this academic year despite the challenges created by the pandemic.
