Do you have a lecture, talk, or careers-focused event that would be enhanced by having young alumni speakers? If so, the Graduate Ambassador Scheme is for you.

The Graduate Ambassador Scheme is an exciting new initiative, which matches recent Southampton graduates with volunteering activities across the University community. We have listened to our colleagues from across the University and have created this scheme as a response to the university-wide need for recent graduate volunteers.
The Scheme, which is a collaboration between the Office of Development and Alumni Relations (ODAR) and Widening Participation and Social Mobility (WPSM), makes it easy for you to involve highly trained and motivated 2020/21 graduates in your activities, including:
- Careers talks
- Mentoring programmes
- Visit/open days
- Guest lectures
- Podcasts
- Careers videos
- Alumni Profiles
- Stories for prospectuses and communications
And many more!
For our volunteers, the scheme gives 2020/21 graduates the opportunity to stay connected with the University through volunteering, whilst gaining key employability skills and personalised career support. Our first year of the scheme will run until July with a celebration event. We will then recruit a brand-new cohort of Graduate Ambassadors for the 2022/2023 academic year.
This year’s cohort includes 36 Graduate Ambassadors, from a range of degree subjects and backgrounds. You can . All of our Graduate Ambassadors have been through a competitive application process and have received training as part of the Scheme.
If you have an activity planned, which you think would benefit from involving our Graduate Ambassadors, you can make a request at any time using .
If you would like support to develop an idea or activity, or would like more information on the Scheme, please get in touch with the ODAR Volunteering Team – givetime@soton.ac.uk.
