University’s OneWeb programme wins three categories at ContentEd Awards

The University鈥檚 OneWeb Programme has been hugely successful at this year鈥檚 ContentEd Awards (Thursday 25 November). Of the six award categories available the University has won three. It鈥檚 a great recognition of the collaborative work and its successful implementation over the last three years.

ContentEd is聽a world leading body for content strategy, user experience, content design and content marketing in the education sector.聽The annual ContentEd Awards are attended by delegates from across the UK, Europe, North America and Australasia.聽 It showcases industry and sector leading projects and recognises great content strategy work. The Awards are judged by a panel of our industry and sector peers.

The awards we won (and what the judges said):

1)聽聽聽聽User Focus award聽–聽for excellence in the approach to content founded on a thorough understanding of the user.

Judges comment:聽鈥淭he diverse range of research methods used in this approach is staggering. It demonstrates the utmost commitment to really understanding their users, and a willingness to do what it takes – no matter how challenging the methods might be – to deliver a user-focused approach.鈥

2)听听听听Excellence in Content Strategy聽–聽recognises teams or projects that demonstrate a deep understanding and delivery of content strategy disciplines and practice.

Judges comment:聽鈥淭here鈥檚 no doubt that they deserve to win this award – they haven鈥檛 just tinkered at the edges of their approach鈥 instead they have led an actual transformation, and it鈥檚 founded on the principles of solid content strategy and content design.鈥

3)听听听听Collaborator Award聽–聽recognises institutions or teams who are breaking through silos and creating a lasting culture of collaboration.

Judges Comment:聽鈥淭his is an impressive story that I can see will have a long-lasting cultural change on the University. It’s not an easy thing to do. I’m in awe at the number of activities used to bring people together and unite around user-centred practices.鈥

The team has been very clear to point out that this has very much been a collaborative effort with our University community (hence the award) and will be sharing these awards with, and extend thanks to, everyone who has been involved.

It鈥檚 a particularly timely moment to get industry and sector recognition, as we head into applying the outcomes of the project at scale and transition into new fully populated platform during 2022. There is still plenty of hard work ahead of us and as we said in the programme: 鈥淭his isn鈥檛 the beginning of the end, it鈥檚 only the end of the beginning鈥.
