To support the new ways of working that have emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic, Lloyd鈥檚 Register has adopted a flexible hybrid workplace model across their global network. This has affected the amount of office space they require in many locations, including Southampton.
We have explored a number of options with Lloyd鈥檚 Register, but their need for confidentiality and the configuration of the building means that there was no practical way for sharing the space. As a result, Lloyds鈥檚 Register will be relocating from the Boldrewood Innovation Campus by September 2022.
As valued partners Lloyd鈥檚 Register want to remain close to the University and have found accommodation that better suits their new flexible workplace approach close by at Hampshire House in Chandler鈥檚 Ford.
Prof. Mark E. Smith, President and Vice-Chancellor said,

These discussions have reaffirmed the desire of both organisations to further strengthen our joint working and聽to continue聽the聽very successful relationship, which has spanned over 40 years.鈥�
The upcoming availability of this building provides the University with an exciting and timely opportunity to rapidly create new space to meet the aims arising out of our new strategy. This is being considered now as part of our current University Estate Master Planning, with an aim to have it operational very shortly after September this year.
