Disability Safe Listening Space

The Equality Diversity and Inclusion Team and the UoS Disability Staff Network invite staff and PGRs to join them for a Disability Safe Listening Space. The Safe Listening Space will take place at 11.00 on 24 November. This event forms part of our celebrations for UK Disability History Month and is open to those who identify as disabled or differently abled.

Safe Listening Spaces provide an opportunity for judgement free discussion around disability. These sessions will be held via Teams to ensure everyone can participate safely. Due to the sensitivity of discussion these sessions will not be recorded.

Whilst the content of conversations will remain confidential, key themes arising from sessions will be considered in future work undertaken by the EDI team and the Disability Staff Network to enable us to improve disability equality within the organisation.

The sessions will be facilitated by Camilla Gibson, Head of Equality Diversity and Inclusion and Libby Barton, Equality Diversity and Inclusion Specialist and UoS Disability Staff Network Chair.

If you would like to find out more or register your interest in attending, please contact the EDI Team via diversity@soton.ac.uk.
