International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia

International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) is celebrated every year on 17 May to increase awareness of discriminatory experiences that the LGBTQ+ community faces and unite people towards positive change. The theme this year is 鈥淭ogether Always: United in Diversity鈥.

Join the School of Electronics and Computer Science and in marking the occasion by raising the Pride Flag at Jubilee Plaza on Wednesday 17 May from 09:30. All staff and students are welcome to join in raising the flag.

The School of Electronics and Computer Science (ECS) has run popular events to mark IDAHOBIT, with the support of the Pulse LGBTQ+ staff network, since 2018 and this year is no different. There will be stalls in the foyer in Building 53 and on level 1 in Building 32 (near the Lecture Theatre 1015) with sweets, fresh fruit, and gadgets to take away from 9 am until 12 pm. Like every year, ECS will be issuing stickers for staff and students to wear on the day to support the LGBTQ+ community.听
