Take part in university-led clinical research

The NIHR Southampton Clinical Research Facility (CRF) is delivered in a longstanding partnership between the University and University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.ÌýÌý

There are several opportunities this month for staff and their families to take part in ground-breaking clinical research studies that will improve treatments and care.Ìý

Needleless COVID-19 vaccineÌý

Professor Saul Faust is leading a first-in-human, needle-less vaccine study that is designed to protect against multiple coronavirus variants. Ìý

We are looking for people who are:Ìý

  • aged 18-50 in good healthÌý
  • immunised with 2 or 3 doses of COVID-19 vaccineÌý
  • able to attend up to 11 visitsÌý
  • have not tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 180 daysÌý

New treatments for COVID-19Ìý

Do you have COVID-19 symptoms that have started within the last 5 days?Ìý

You could be eligible to take part in the AGILE CST-8 trial, which is delivered by the university’s Southampton Clinical Trials Unit.Ìý

This would involve trialling new, promising treatments for COVID-19, and you would also be reimbursed £650 for your time and participation. Travel expenses may also be covered.Ìý

Help us fight whooping coughÌý

We are currently looking for healthy participants aged between 18 – 55 years to take part in a new whooping cough study.Ìý

The PERISCOPE C trial is led in Southampton by Professor Robert Read.Ìý

The study participation is up to 10 weeks and participants will be compensated up to £785 for their time and travel.
