The Design & Print Centre has been providing an internal print service for the University since 1969, and has seen many changes in the more than 50 years since it was established. The latest are to announce a change of name to 鈥淰alley Graphics鈥� and to unveil a new visual identity.
The Same Great Service
These changes, which come into effect on 2 October, represent a pivotal moment in the organisation鈥檚 journey. Nonetheless, the team is keen to emphasise that while their name and appearance are evolving, they are still the same team with the same commitment to delivering high-quality design and print services.

Sustainability is one of the service鈥檚 core values, and its new name, 鈥淰alley Graphics鈥�, references both Valley Gardens – in recognition of the biodiversity that thrives across our university campuses, and Bevois Valley, where the service鈥檚 production unit is located. The inclusion of “Graphics” is also intentional, reflecting the wide range of services and expertise across design, printing, and signage.
A New Look
In addition to the service鈥檚 new name, the team is excited to introduce a fresh visual identity across its web pages, SharePoint site and social media channels. These updates are the first of many that are planned over the coming months, as the team continually aims to elevate and improve your experience working with them. Look out for more information on products and services, more photos of the company鈥檚 work and an updated design studio portfolio, as well as helpful information on production lead times, updates on busy periods and other useful tips.

You might notice a change to the URL next week where you usually find the . A new email address, valleygraphics@soton.ac.uk is also being introduced. However, there鈥檚 no need to worry as all of the existing email and web addresses will still be in use with redirects in place during the transition. The contact phone number 023 8059 3603 is unchanged.
