The year鈥檚 theme is 鈥楥ommunity over Commercialisation鈥� which focuses on the benefit of community activities in combating the negative sides of commercialisation听in scholarly communications, for example, publicly funded research and knowledge being behind paywalls or excessive fees听being charged to publish open access.听
In keeping with the theme,听the Library听is听launching a new Community of Practice听focusing on the development of a University Press – as part of a Strategic Major Project.鈥�The University Press Community of Practice (UP CoP) is open to staff and Post graduate students, we would especially like to hear from听members of the University community already engaged听in scholarly communication publishing activities under the banner of the University of Southampton.
