Celebrate the festive season

With the nights drawing in and temperatures dropping, it’s time to celebrate the arrival of the festive period on Highfield Campus with the brand new Winter Festival on 28 November and Festive Family Event on 1 December.ÌýÌý

Winter FestivalÌý

Previously known as Festive Lights, Winter Festival will culminate with the popular annual light switch-on from 17:00 on Tuesday 28 November. You do not need to book in order to attend the light switch-on – simply turn up on the and enjoy seeing Highfield Campus come to life with festive spirit alongside your University community.

Please note that the Winter Festival is only open to University of Southampton students and staff. Children are not permitted to attend. Ìý

Festive Family EventÌý

For those with young children, you are invited to join us for a magical afternoon of crafts, activities and music at our popular Festive Family Event on Highfield Campus from 16:00 to 19:00 on Friday 1 December.ÌýÌý

The afternoon includes a magic show, free refreshments including hot chocolate and a seasonal snack, face painting, magic show, and crafts. Please note there are now very limited tickets for our Storytime with Santa sessions, but there are plenty of other activities to enjoy throughout the event.Ìý

It is important to us that our Festive Family event is inclusive and accessible to all. We are offering shorter and more relaxed visits with Santa and will also have a Relaxed Room available with quieter activities and crafts. These sessions may be particularly suited to families where a parent, carer or child is disabled or neurodivergent. If you would like to register for this please instead of the Eventbrite link below.Ìý
