The Southampton Science and Engineering Festival is back for 2024. The 10-day celebration was launched in 2002, and runs in parallel with British Science Week 8-17 March 2024 with a series of free interactive events open to the public, staff and students.
is the University of Southampton鈥檚 annual award-winning science festival that invites everyone to explore and discover what the exciting world of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) has to offer.
General admission tickets are now available for the festival as well as event specific tickets 鈥� all the festival events are free to attend 鈥� you can see the full schedule on the 聽Some highlights include:

Science and Engineering Day
The festival concludes with Science and Engineering Day, 10:30-16:30, Saturday 16 March at Highfield and Boldrewood campuses.
Welcoming people young and old from across the UK to take part in hands-on activities, demonstrations, workshops, live shows, talks and laboratory tours from across the University鈥檚 faculties. The day is a showcase of the research, people and stories across the University and our local community, and relies on the efforts and incredible contributions of dedicated colleagues, students and partners. As well as celebrating this work and sharing enthusiasm for STEAM, the day provides an opportunity to hear from our visitors what their perspectives are and their responses to our research. 聽Science and Engineering Day features 140+ activities from over 930 exhibitors. It鈥檚 free to take part and is suitable for all ages.
