Spring break 2024/25: service opening times, support, and events

±á±ð°ù±ð’s a rundown of useful information, including the opening times of our campus facilities and events you can get involved with over the spring break (Monday 31 March – Sunday 27 April).Ìý

24/7 support via The Student Hub

The Student Hub will remain available 24/7 via telephone, and email, including during the Easter Bank Holidays and University closure days (Wednesday 16 –ÌýMonday 21 April inclusive). If you would like to see one of our team members in person, The Student Hub in Building 37 on Highfield Campus will be open from 08:00-20:00 throughout the break, and the dedicated wellbeing service will continue to be available 24/7 for walk-ins.Ìý

The Student Hub sites at Avenue Campus, Winchester School of Art, Sir James Matthews, and NOCS will be closed from Friday 28 March and will reopen on Monday 28 April.Ìý

For guidance on practical matters, the can provide free, independent, and confidential advice and information. While the team are unavailable from Wednesday 16 to Monday 21 April, you can outside of this period.

Where to study and take a breakÌý

Our Library opening times vary throughout the spring break. The Hartley Library and Health Services Library will be open every day except for Easter Sunday (Sunday 20 April), while Winchester School of Art Library will be closed during the University closure days (Wednesday 16 – Monday 21 April) – the National Oceanographic Library will be closed during the Spring break period. The Building 100 and Sir James Matthews study spaces will also be open on weekdays. .Ìý

If you would like to take a study break and get something to eat or drink, or simply prefer to study in a café environment, the following Campus Kitchen outlets are also available during the break:

IT supportÌýÌý

University IT support services, including Tech Hubs and ServiceLine, will be closed from Wednesday 16 April to Monday 21 April. During the spring break, you can still receive support for your devices at the usual opening times outside of this closure period.Ìý

Keep active with Southampton Sport and Be ActiveÌý

Southampton Sport facilities will be open throughout the spring break to help you stay active, however from Wednesday 16 April to Monday 21 April, opening hours will differ. The Jubilee Sports and Recreation Centre and Mayflower Gym will be closed on Sunday 20 April only. Check the Southampton Sport website for the scheduled opening hours of all venues and facilities. Ìý

You can also join a free Be Active session to enjoy a fun sport with other students during the break. Outside of the closure period (Wednesday 16Ìý–ÌýMonday 21 April), the following sessions will run every week on Highfield Campus (full details on the ):ÌýÌý

  • Tuesdays, 13:00-15:00 – Badminton and PickleballÌýÌý
  • Thursdays, 16:00-17:00 – BadmintonÌýÌý
  • Thursdays, 17:30-18:30 – Fun Frisbee (outdoors)ÌýÌý

If you are staying in Southampton or Winchester over the spring break, there are various events and activities for you to get involved with, whether you want to meet other students or take a break from your studies.ÌýÌý
