Knowledge Exchange and Enterprise (KEE) forms one of the strands of the University鈥檚 Triple Helix, and Southampton is widely acknowledged as a leader in KEE, achieving top ratings in the Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF). The聽聽recognises that our people are central to this success.

One of the plan’s goals is:
鈥To recognise and value staff involved in KEE activities to ensure we bring the best people and commercial skills into the University for successful KEE and to deliver impact鈥.
New case studies, as linked below, showcase colleagues who are building successful KEE-focused careers:
–听Professorial Fellow, Public Engagement and Head of Engagement (Medicine)
– Principal Enterprise Fellow (Engineering)
聽– Senior Enterprise Fellow (Physics and Astronomy)
– Senior Research Software Engineer (Electronics and Computer Science)
–听Director of Southampton Research Software Group (Electronics and Computer Science)
New routes to KEE success
Recent changes to the Career Pathways framework are helping to achieve the KEE Strategic Plan鈥檚 鈥People鈥 goals.
The Enterprise Pathway was refreshed in February, becoming the聽聽for staff who contribute to the University mainly through KEE activities. 鈥The aim is to better reflect and recognise the richness and breadth of KEE activities,鈥 said Andrew Gameson, Head of Reward, Recognition and Inclusion.
鈥Recently, in response to feedback, we have also introduced Enterprise Panels to review staff promotions where the majority of the role involves KEE. Panels now include members with enterprise expertise.”
鈥淚 am pleased that we have been able to make these substantial improvements.鈥
