Academic Professional Development workshops – June 2025

Below is a selection of workshops to support learning, teaching, research and KEE academic development. Not all are featured here so visit the for the full listing.

All staff:

10 June:

Bring questions and queries to a collaborative forum where members of the evaluation community of practice come together.

13 June:

Join the deputy editor of THE Campus for a day of workshops and writing time, designed to help you write an article for publication. Open to all staff looking to share their practice within the HE Sector.

18 June:

An introduction to the student groups supported by the Student Inclusion team.

Education focused:

4 June:

A chance to discuss what you feel your students need support with. These sessions will be especially beneficial for Personal Academic Tutors.

4 June:

This workshop introduces the rationale for using objects in education settings and provides a hands-on experience with real artefacts to give a sense of what this approach looks like.

11 June:

Discuss the challenges that students face in terms of completing assessed work and how to embed the academic skills service within taught sessions.

Research/KEE focused:

3 June:

Best practice guidance on how to reach and engage with young people in schools, youth groups, community groups or on an individual level.

4 June:

Explore the dynamic contexts of PER within higher education, methods of using AI to engage, and key considerations for planning  and evaluating the effectiveness of AI in your engagement approach.

9 June:

Join RIS and CHEP for an overview of the opportunities for knowledge exchange and enterprise activity at UoS, and a chance to connect with key contacts from across the across the institution.
