The (SMMI) is seeking a new deputy director, as Professor Fraser Sturt聽steps into the director role after seven years as a deputy director.
Professor Damon Teagle, who has led the Institute for the past 8 years, is stepping down at the end of July. SMMI serves as a gateway connecting marine and maritime industries, policy makers and other groups to research, innovation, and education across the University.
The Institute is seeking an individual to join the leadership team to work alongside existing deputy director聽Professor Susan Gourvenec, in supporting Fraser as director.
Working with Fraser and Susan, the new deputy director will help to lead a dynamic programme of activity that supports the interdisciplinary community, enhances academic excellence, grows research income, fosters enterprise, and enables education across disciplines.
