- Supports staff to deliver high quality inclusive education to our culturally diverse student population representing at least 130 different countries.
- ActivelyÌýsupports educators to attain HEA professionalÌýto demonstrate commitment to high quality teaching. This can be achieved viaÌýour Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP)Ìý(taught programme)Ìýor Professional Recognition of Educator Practice (PREP)Ìý(portfolioÌýbased).
- SupportsÌýthe National Teaching Fellowship (NTF) and Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (CATE) SchemeÌýto celebrate outstanding individual and collaborative achievements in learning and teaching in UK higher education.
- Plays a leading role in University-wide enhancement projects and initiatives including the Advancing Assessment and the Successful Futures Strategic Major Projects and by supporting the University’s commitment to a variety charters.
- Promotes collaborative practice and the cross-fertilisation of ideas through the facilitation of University-wide networks, Communities of Practice, staff-student partnerships, and by awarding Enhancement Funds and Teaching Development Grants to encourage creative and innovative practice.
- Encourages the dissemination of best practice through a portfolio of CPD (Education) workshops delivered by staff from across the institution and by showcasing best practice during the annual Ìý(link opens an internal staff SharePoint site)

United Kingdom Advising and Tutoring association (UKAT) membership
The University is a member of the - a learned society of professional practitioners and researchers interested in advancing the scholarship and practice of student advising and personal tutoring in Higher Education in the UK.
