Bereavement support is provided through the University's Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).
Staff who suffer a bereavement may be entitled to take Ìýif they require time off.
YouÌýcan take two weeks parental bereavement leave following a stillbirth after 24 weeks of pregnancy or the death of a child under 18ÌýifÌýyou are an employee and give the correct notice. This is a day one right. You can take the leave at any time from the date of the stillbirth or death up to 56 weeks.
Statutory Parental Bereavement Pay
Parental bereavement pay is paid at the Ìýfor up to two weeks, if:
YouÌýcan take statutory parental bereavement leave/pay in addition to any maternity or paternity leave/pay you qualify for, and you may qualify for it even if they do not qualify for Statutory Maternity Pay or Statutory Paternity Pay.
