Teaching Tomorrow's Doctors

Teaching Tomorrow's Doctors is a 4-day course on educational theory and practice as applied to medical education.Ìý The course involves a participatory and interactive approach to learning, including group work and micro-teaching. Participants value the opportunity to mix with other disciplines (academics and clinicians from a broad range of specialties) and students are also involved to help participants explore student perspectives on learning and teaching.

Who can apply?

This course is for BM teachers with substantial teaching roles. Priority will be given to applicants with educational leadership roles (e.g. module leads, placement leads). Selection will also take into account the mix of specialty/subject area within the group.

Please also be aware that, before starting this course, participants need to have completed our one-day online course An Introduction to Teaching BM Students. This courses includes an overview of the BM curriculum – this is no longer covered in Teaching Tomorrow’s Doctors.

As an optional addition to this course, we are offering participants support with applying for the Professional Recognition of Educator Practice Framework (PREP).Ìý PREP is a portfolio approach to recognition for staff who are experienced educators and leads to at associate fellow, fellow, senior fellow or principal fellow level.
