Pest scarers on roof tops or in gardens, and the use of ultrasound signals to monitor the integrity of sound reproduction systems in public spaces expose a diverse population. It may well be that the exposure levels are sufficiently low, even for children, to generate no adverse effects, but measurements are extremely scarce and could not have been traced to standards, which are only now being formulated.
